A Gift in Your Will, Trust, or By Beneficiary Designation Can Change the Future for a Child

A growing community of Phoenix Children’s supporters have made the deeply meaningful decision to include a gift in their will or trust, or to name Phoenix Children’s as the beneficiary of their IRA, other retirement plan, life insurance or other financial account.

They have come together to fund a future where no child suffers from cancer, diabetes, or other serious illnesses. With the help of caring, generous supporters, we can ensure that no family will face cancer or other serious illness alone.

With a gift in your will or other estate plan:

  • You can leave most of your resources to your loved ones and reserve a small percentage for Phoenix Children’s.
  • A gift in your will or by beneficiary designation requires no immediate donation. The gift comes to Phoenix Children’s only after your lifetime.
  • You can change your mind at any time.

We welcome gifts in any amount. Because the value is in what these gifts represent-a healthy future for every child.

A Gift by Beneficiary Designation

Many assets can be used to make a meaningful gift to Phoenix Children’s. You do not need to update your will; you can express your values simply by signing your name, and you have the flexibility to change your beneficiary designations at any time.

  • RETIREMENT PLANS, including your IRA, 401(k), 403(b) or other tax-deferred plan. If you name Phoenix Children’s as a beneficiary of all or some percentage of your retirement plan account, you can leave less heavily taxed assets to loved ones, and we will receive 100% of your gift.
  • LIFE INSURANCE POLICIES. You may decide to name Phoenix Children’s a beneficiary of your life insurance policy if it’s outlived its original purpose and you no longer need the policy.
  • CERTIFICATES OF DEPOSIT, BANK OR BROKERAGE ACCOUNTS, and other financial accounts. You can name Phoenix Children’s the beneficiary of any of these financial accounts.
  • DONOR-ADVISED FUNDS. You can designate Phoenix Children’s to receive funds remaining in your donor-advised fund account after your lifetime.

With each of these gifts, simply ask your retirement plan manager or financial institution for the appropriate beneficiary designation form. You may also be able to update your beneficiary designation forms through your online account portal.

If you are 70.5 year old or more, you can also make an immediate donation to Phoenix Children’s directly from your IRA through a qualified charitable distribution.

You will need our legal designation:
